Metro News Canada App Reviews

This used to be a great app but starting today, not only is there the usual as at the bottom of the screen which was fine - but every time you flip to a new article an comes up and blocks your screen. Very distracting and annoying.

Not even a Montreal section, no search, poor quality... Why is this in the App Store??

At first, the app was fine for a free local news source app, but that was before there was a pop up on every page. I barely use it anymore

I used to love this app. However today I removed it due to CIBC ads that keep popping up every 2nd news article. Poor design and QA testing. Sorry. Dont have time to waste stopping or closing the ad.

Great, easy way to get caught up in news but I dont need to see the same ad every time I open a new article. EVERYTIME! so annoying.

Frequency of ads now make it impossible to read

I know that apps need to recover costs to the developers, and a banner ad on the bottom of every page is reasonable. But a full page popover on EVERY ARTICLE is ridiculous. I am ready to toss the app in the trash for this.

If there is a full page add then the app wont open. One of the most unreliable apps out there. Only way around it is to delete the app and reinstall it every time it hangs. Would give it ZERO stars if I could. METRO dont you read the reviews???

Indeed it is useless to have that app if Montreal is no available. And it was the only city with news in French.

The app still uses the old legacy way of sharing, and is the only app I use that still uses the old ios 7 method. Cant share news articles via messenger, facebook messages, open in safari, etcetera. This app is ancient.

Surely someone on the development team would have checked to make sure that the ads at the bottom of the page wont obscure the last news item on an iphone6S. Also, the Vancouver news is always out of date.

Is there anyone in charge of proof reading actually read the articles, besides they are released on the app? Ive seen on many occasion where there have been misspelled words. The app is slow to load, (including the articles) sometimes I have to close the app and wait for a few minutes for it to work. The app is useful to read the news. But the slowness of the app and the non existent proof reader is the reason why I gave the app two stars. If you want the news for your phone or iPad the Id suggest downloading CTV or Global etc.

Last month the local news didnt update for two weeks(not the first occasion either), now its just not loading at all. Wa wa wa waaaaaaa..... Its too bad this doesnt live up to the print version.

First reported app not working over 2 months ago and nothing was done. Either metro doesnt care or doesnt look at feedback either way lost me will find something that WORKS. It started working for a while now and again this week stopped and now it says I dont have internet connection which I have....

Just because our language is French and Metro decides to remove the city? Shame on Metro, shame on Metro!

I can read the Metro in Japan :)

When I was living in Toronto I used to read Metro. Its good because I dont need to carry the paper and I can catch up todays Toronto.

This app is much better than the newsstand app one.
